What “Full Gut” Actually Means
A full bathroom renovation down to studs means the vanity, toilet, tile, drywall, and sometimes subfloor all come out. Then waterproofing goes in before anything else. Cement board goes up before tile. Plumbing rough-in happens before the walls close. Every decision made in the wrong order creates a problem that's expensive to fix later.
Dwight has done this job enough times to know what order things need to happen in and what gets skipped when contractors are in a hurry. A complete two-bathroom gut renovation — re-plumbing both rooms, relocating a toilet, running proper supply lines, building a shower in a room that previously didn't have one — is a fundamentally different scope than it appears on the surface. Knowing that going in is the difference between a quote that holds and one that doesn't.
